Annual report 2023

Together when possible, alone when necessary

The residents of Oslo and Akershus are world champions in traveling together. Every journey they take by public transport instead of a private car contributes to cleaner air and the preservation of nature. Ruter’s ambition is clear: We will make public transport so attractive that it becomes the first choice for even more people. At the same time, we are working towards zero emissions from our operations. In 2023, we have taken major steps in the right direction.

A Viable Alternative to the Private Car

However, to achieve the goal of zero growth in urban car traffic, we must rethink what public transport is – and what it can become.
